Raw Vegan Pumpkin Spice Protein Balls and Craft Night.

I absolutely love autumn, I have mentioned that countless times before and I will say it again! It is my absolute favorite season for plenty of reasons, one of the main reasons is PUMPKIN SPICE! I eat and drink everything that could be pumpkin spice flavored. The smell and taste just give me a warm and happy feeling, and I love it.

I spent this afternoon with my mum and we decided to make some Pumpkin Spice Protein Balls, and it was an excellent choice if I do say so myself!

This recipe is totally raw vegan and full of goodness!

Ingredients
25 pitted and dried dates
20 dried apricots
1 cup quick rolled oats
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup coconut flakes
1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Process
1. Put all the dates and apricots into a food processor and pulse until they are all in small pieces.
2. Add in the remaining ingredients and pulse until everything is in small pieces.
3. The end result should be a sticky "dough", and with a little bit of pressure they should stick together in balls. If they are too sticky add a little bit more rolled oats, almonds or coconut. If the "dough" happens to be too dry add more dates and pulse a little bit longer.
4. This recipe gave us 26 balls about the circumference of a loonie.

If you're anything like me, you will want a stronger pumpkin flavor, before you form into balls check the taste and adjust as you wish!
Also, if you broke your food processor in the banana ice cream incident of 2012 this recipe can also be done using a blender. You just have to blend the dates and apricots into small pieces and then hand mix the rest (literally, with your hands)!

The end result is so tasty, and they are full of delicious protein and wonderful Pumpkin Spice goodness.

To add to my glorious weekend a friend and I decided that we should make rice bags, seeing as I had come across a couple of how to's and we had discussed attempting it for a couple of weeks!

HOW!
1. Depending on how big you would like the bag to be double the size of fabric and then fold in half (inside out).
2. Sew around two of the three raw edges, leaving the top open to pour rice into.
3. Find the biggest bag of rice you can at the grocery store and separate an amount large enough to fit into the bag bag of rice while still leaving some room for the rice to move around. Drop about 10 drops of your favorite essential oil into the rice and mix very well.
4. Pour the rice into the bag (careful, we actually got rice everywhere in my kitchen).
5. Fold the top edges in to hide the raw fabric and sew one line across the top to keep the rice from escaping!
6. Once you're finished throw it into the microwave for about a minute and a half. Then you're ready to cozy up with your new warm friend on those chilly fall evenings!

I added some lace to the fabric before I sewed it into the pocket, just to make it a little bit prettier! I also found the essential oil that we used at Bath & Body Works, it was the cheapest and smelled the best. Basically the best of both worlds!

Hopefully this post makes sense, I am currently in a dinner induced coma. Coupled with my lack of sleep I am not a highly functioning adult!

If you have any questions please leave a comment below, and I will do my best to answer them!

Be well.
